Another world premiere at Eastmain 1

Thursday, January 12, 2012

In his last issue, the scientific journal Global Biochemical Cycles is publishing an article written by researchers of the Eatsmain 1 Net GHG Emissions Project.

In his master thesis, Soren Brothers explores the contribution of the water column biological production in the EM-1 reservoir and compare it to the production of many natural lakes of the region. These interesting results calls for a paradigm shift away from the common assumption that reservoir CO2 emissions are predominantly the result of decaying flooded soils and vegetation.
