Since 2005, dozen of Scientifics from majors universities are working in the North of Quebec to measure greenhouse gases emitted from a reservoir and to determine their influence on the climate change.

For the first time, a project is aiming, with rigorous scientific methods, at determining the net GHG emissions from a hydroelectric reservoir shortly after the impoundment. In a sustainable development approach, a better understanding of the phenomenon at hand, will allow the development of energy source that preserved the fragile equilibrium of our blue planet.
